Tutoring Sessions
Teacher & Dog (student)

When you don't have enough time to put in the hours of training, we can do it for you.

What is Tutoring?

Tutoring is one of the paths to education for your dog. These are private learning sessions between teacher and dog. Pet parents drop their dog off for 2 hours.

2 hours gives us enough time to get multiple reps and cool down in between bursts of training. If the dog is at a level where they are starting to work in real world environments there is enough time to drive them to 1 or 2 locations to practice their skills.

Sniffing a Hand

How can Tutoring help my dog's training progress?

Your dog is a sentient being that just like you requires hours of deliberate practice to master a skill. Be honest with yourself --How many hours a day do you spend working with your dog? If you have ever been impressed by service dogs and thought to yourself my dog could never do that. The thing is your dog probably could learn the skill necessary to do a lot of things and be just as "well behaved" as a service dog if they were given the opportunity.

Tutoring offers your dog more learning opportunities each week and takes some of the pressure off you to make sure you put in practice.

Tutoring sessions are best combined  with a Behavior Modification plan, other training services, or enrichment services to ensure that the dog is getting their other needs met along the way and their tutor doesn't have to spend time getting them focused.
