Breed: Vizsla
Female/Intact/Registered
It must be told, Indie has a bite history. She is a behaviorally normal Vizsla and her aggression isn't random. She has been pushed in situations that ultimitly lead to her attacking.
Indie Rose from our assesments is a behaviorally normal dog but she is sensitive to fast movements and the preseption of being corrnered. If handled and managed smart she shouldn't be of consern. Anyone intrested in Indie will need to understand and asume all risks.
When I first met Indie I was shocked at how increadibly frendly and non-threatening or even anxious or scard she was. She was excited to meet a new human and accepted my affection without a second thought. Up until now she was wearing a martingale collar that her humans could not remove without fear of being bitten.
Right away I begain working on removing the the collar, I took my time and wasn't in any hurry to push her bounderies knowing her history.
Indie has been station trained. The station is used as a consent system for handling or grooming procedures. If she gets on the platform or station then she is consenting to my handling her and if she remains off the platform, I will not touch her. Using this consent to touch her method I was able to get her collar off in our second training session. Again apsolutly no aggression!
She only shows warning signs or aggresses if she feels surprised, restrained, and threatened by the person doing the handling. She will need continued training in this mannor to accept a vetrinarian or have her nails trimmed.
