Canine Outdoor Camp: A True Wilderness Adventure for Your Dog

Do you want your dog to experience the sights, sounds, and pure decompression of the great outdoors—without the stress of a massive kennel or harsh training methods?

Welcome to Canine Outdoor Camp by Kind Animal Services. This is our premium, boutique reimagining of the traditional "board and train" service.

We don't do cold concrete runs or loud, chaotic boarding kennels. Instead, we host an ultra-exclusive, intimate camp experience limited to just 1 to 3 compatible dogs at a time. Your dog becomes part of our family, joining us for real-world day hikes or immersive overnight camping trips where they learn, explore, and thrive in nature.

Choose Your Adventure: Day Camp vs. Overnight Camp

We offer two flexible ways for your dog to experience camp. To keep things safe and peaceful, we carefully match campers based on personality and play style.

☀️ Outdoor Day Camp

The perfect daytime escape for busy pet parents.

Real-World Skill Building: We integrate positive reinforcement into every nature trail hike, practicing focus, leash manners, and polite choices around distractions.
The Sniffari Experience: Your dog enjoys dedicated time to explore quiet trails, naturally lowering stress and building confidence through sniffing.
Door-to-Door Shuttle: We handle pickup and drop-off, returning a happy, fulfilled dog to your doorstep.

🌙 Overnight Adventure Camp (Minimum 3-Night Stay)

This is not your average dog boarding—this is a true camping experience! When your dog stays with us overnight, we pack up the gear and head out for an immersive journey.

Real Wilderness Camping: We take our small pack of campers out into nature to experience actual camping under the stars. They get to hike, sleep in tents, and enjoy the calming rhythm of the wilderness.
"Camp on the Farm" (Our Cozy Backup): Mother Nature can be unpredictable. If weather or trail conditions prevent us from heading into the deep woods, we switch to "camp on the farm!" Your dog stays safely at our home base, enjoying structured farm exploration, indoor enrichment, and cozy home comforts.
Constant Supervision & Training: Whether we are sleeping in a tent or on the farm, your dog receives 24/7 care, personalized reward-based training, and plenty of love.

An Exclusive Service for Our Existing Clients

To maintain a safe, harmonious, and highly effective environment, Canine Outdoor Camp is not open to the general public.

Because we only take up to 3 dogs at a time, we must intimately know every single dog's personality, triggers, and social compatibility before they can pack their bags.

How to Qualify for Camp:

Admission to camp is strictly earned through a prior behavioral evaluation. This evaluation is naturally completed when you and your dog participate in one of our foundational services, such as:

A Workshop Session
Any of our 6-Week Training Courses
Or 1 or 2 Tutoring Field Trip Sessions

This prerequisite ensures that when your dog arrives at camp, we already have an established bond, a clear baseline of communication, and a safe group dynamic waiting for them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do you go for the wilderness camping trips?

We choose quiet, dog-friendly wilderness areas and backcountry spots where the dogs can safely experience nature without the stress of heavy crowds or high traffic.

How do you keep dogs safe while sleeping in tents or camping outdoors?

Safety is our absolute priority at Kind Animal Services. Dogs sleep securely inside the tent with us, in our horsetrailer (mobile dog kennel), or truck camper, and we utilize specialized gear—including secure tie-outs, long lines, and GPS tracking collars if appropriate—to ensure every camper is physically safe and accounted for 24/7.

What happens if it rains heavily or the weather is bad during an Overnight Camp?

If the weather makes a wilderness trip unsafe or uncomfortable for the dogs, we transition to "Camp on the Farm." Your dog will stay in our structured, comfortable home environment and enjoy enrichment games, farm sniffs, and cozy indoor manners training instead.

What if my dog has a high prey drive (loves chasing squirrels or deer)?

Because we intimately evaluate your dog during their prerequisite training course, we plan for this! Dogs with a high prey drive remain securely attached to our heavy-duty long lines or safety tethers attached to a back-clip harness. Camp provides a wonderful, safe environment to practice impulse control and build a reliable "leave it" cue around real-world wildlife distractions.

My dog is a bit of a "velcro dog" and gets separation anxiety. Can they handle Overnight Camp?

Because camp is limited to a maximum of 3 dogs, your pup receives continuous human companionship. They sleep right alongside us—whether in a tent or at the farm. However, if your dog experiences severe isolation distress, we will use your prerequisite Workshop or 6-week course to assess whether the transition to overnight camping is a good match for their current emotional threshold.

Camper Packing List: What to Bring to Camp

To ensure your pup has a safe, comfortable, and successful adventure—whether they are joining us for a day hike or a multi-night wilderness trip—here is our official packing guide!

☀️ For Outdoor Day Campers

Day campers travel light! Please pack these essentials in a small, secure bag:

A Well-Fitted Y-Shaped Harness: A comfortable, non-restrictive harness keeps your dog safe on the trail and allows for natural movement.
A Flat Collar with ID Tags: Make sure your contact info is up to date and firmly attached to their collar.
Weather-Appropriate Gear: If your dog gets chilly easily, please pack their favorite fleece or rain jacket for wet or cold camp days.

🌙 For Overnight & Wilderness Campers (3+ Nights)

For our overnight adventurers heading out into the backcountry or hanging out on the farm, please pack the day camp essentials plus:

Food (Plus a Little Extra): Pack your dog's regular food in a sealed, waterproof container or pre-portioned bags. Please include 2-3 extra days' worth of food just in case their outdoor activity level makes them extra hungry!
Medications & Supplements: Provide clear, written instructions on dosages and timing. Keep all medications in their original prescription bottles.
A Familiar Sleeping Blanket or Mat: Bringing a bed, blanket, towel, or mat that smells like home helps your dog settle down comfortably inside the tent or on the farm. Don't forget it can get cold at night so pack bedding accordingly. Extra pajamas like a warm fleese for sleeping in can really help short coated dogs sleep more comfortably.
Their Favorite High-Value Chews: Long-lasting, safe chews (like bully sticks or stuffed KONGs) provide wonderful mental decompression after a long day of hiking.
