Dog Shelter

KAS Education Fund

Most dogs abandoned at shelters due to behavior issues that owners don't have the resources to work through. Let's keep more dogs in their families and out of shelters.

Full Donation Transparency Q&A

Q:  Is Kind Animal Services a 501c3?

A:  Not yet. While we hope to apply and create a 501c3 non-profit organization in the future. We are currently a for profit business (we have to make money too) that with the help of donations offers training, behavior, and education to individual animals, the public, and rescues, shelters, and other organizations.

Q:  When I make a donation where does my money go?

A:  Your money goes into a separate bank account. We then track each donor and the bucket they wish to apply their donation too. This way we can make sure that can put the money towards the most requested causes.

Q:  Are you accepting new rescue/re-home animals?

A:  We encourage people reach out and tell us about their pets that they are looking to re-home. However, until we grow our foster network we likely don't have the resources to take on more than one dog at a time.

Q: How do you support and help dogs in shelters?

A: When we have the resources we go to shelters and work one on one with individual dogs. We may work with them on manners and skills on the shelter grounds or we might take them out for an adventure. With enough resources we are able to support fostering a dog in order to get them out of the shelter environment helping them become more adoptable.

Q: How do you help dog's stay in their home and out of shelters?

A: When people inquire about Kind Animal Services with behavior problems that are leading them to want to relinquish their dogs because they cannot afford training. Kind Animal Services can, with your support, offer the needed services for the dog/family at little to no cost to the family.

Adopting a Journey Dog

IMG_6248_jpg.jpg

If you are a little hesitant about getting a dog from a shelter because you don't know what you are getting, we can eliminate that problem. By adopting a dog who has spent a minimum of 3 months in training and comes with a lifetime of support from KAS, you can rest assured that you're making a secure and caring choice.

At KAS, we are dedicated to making perfect matches. Our dogs, while they may cost more upfront, are not just pets-they are part of our family. They have been living, learning, and working with us, and we will settle for nothing but the best matches. This dedication should give you confidence and reassurance in your decision to adopt.

We encourage you to meet the dog you are interested in early and visit often. If the dog is not ready to go home with you, adoption applicants often influence the career path. We will start implementing lessons into their day that align with your goals. This means you will play a crucial role in shaping the dog's future, and we will be there to guide you every step of the way.

Some career dogs are trained for:

  • Family pet dog and Canine Good Citizen

  • Emotional Support Animal

  • Service dogs (including hearing dogs, medical response dogs, and mobility dogs)

  • Therapy dog

  • Scent detection dog (finding sheds, wild mushrooms, or drugs)

  • Competitive (or just for fun) Agility and Obedience dogs

Dogs are not automatically enrolled in those jobs, but they have the training and the temperament to find a career in any one of these areas. This adaptability should make you feel hopeful and excited about the potential of your new companion. However, as the adopter, it will be you ultimately hiring them, and they will still need on-the-job training. KAS is here to support the dogs through this transition, so you will never be left without guidance.
